Labour leader Chris Hipkins has thrown his support behind Andrew Little as the former party leader mulls a run for the Wellington mayoralty.
Speaking to Nick Mills today, Hipkins said Little is a 鈥渢op bloke鈥 and would be a 鈥渧ery, very good option for Wellingtonians鈥.
鈥淗e鈥檚 both a leader and a capable manager and I think Wellington city needs both at the moment,鈥 Hipkins said.
鈥淣o one can doubt Andrew鈥檚 left-wing credentials, he鈥檚 a true Labour Party stalwart.鈥
He also discussed the government's new Defence Capability Plan, his party's standings in the polls and the fight against organised crime.
