Police have released the name of the man who was killed after a collision between a train and a vehicle in Penrose on Friday.
He was Sarveen Singh, 40, of Auckland.
The incident occurred at the level crossing on Maurice Rd, near the intersection with Station Rd, about 2pm.
Police say their thoughts and sympathies are with his family at this difficult time.
The crash remains under investigation.

AT director of public transport and active modes, Stacey van der Putten said on Friday a car 鈥渢ravelled through a level crossing and was hit鈥 by a train on the Onehunga Line.
鈥淭he barriers at the Maurice Rd level crossing were down at the time and appeared to be functioning properly,鈥 van der Putten said.
鈥淭he train driver immediately notified the Auckland Rail Operations Centre and emergency services responded promptly on the scene. The train driver is being supported by our rail operator, Auckland One Rail [AOR].鈥
Nico from the Vehicle Inspection service in Penrose told the Herald that a colleague witnessed the crash.
鈥淚t really looked serious, it definitely seemed like it could possibly be really serious for that person, the ambulance came and went really quickly.鈥
Sobil Joseph, a mechanical worker from Kiwis Autos, told the Herald that 鈥渢he front of the car is completely under the train鈥.
鈥淚t鈥檚 horrific, the train pushed the car ... down the line.鈥
