Dunedin business leaders are pushing for continued Easter trading despite a mixed response to a survey on the issue.
The city council is discussing Easter Trading tomorrow, after allowing it this year because of all the extra people in town for Ed Sheeran concerts.
However, half the workers who've responded to a survey on the issue say they felt pressured to work - and 68 per cent say they didn't really want to.
Fifty-two per cent of retailers and 45 per cent of the general public who responded to the survey supported Easter trading.
Otago Chamber of Commerce chief executive Dougal McGowan says it would level the playing field for retailers, as people do a lot of online shopping over Easter.
"The bricks and mortar are not able to compete with those doing internet sales."
